I'm so glad you are here! My name is Deanna and I've been studying and teaching yoga, meditation, and breath practices for over 20 years. When I started practicing Medical Qigong through Zen Wellness, it immediately changed my life! From my very first class, I knew I needed to share these time tested practices with everyone! I have seen the benefits the meditation practices provide for both myself and my students. Whether I'm navigating the challenges of parenting, family, work, or life in general, I am able to draw from my training to find calm in the chaos. I have completed multiple certifications in yoga and ayurveda, and hold degrees as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Music Educator. I combine my knowlege of Eastern and Western teachings, taking complex topics or practices, and making them accessible for all students. I am commited to empowering others to achieve their desired level of wellness. I am based in Houston, however I work with students throughout the United States (in person and via Zoom).

Qi (chi) means "energy" and gong means 'work.' The two words together refer to using movement, posture, and breath to cultivate energy and awareness. The goal of all Qigong disciplines is to create a balance of life force energy (qi) to enhance the long-term quality of life. Qigong classes will help you find balance with mindful movements, breath work, and visualizations.
This varies person to person. Most students notice an immediate calming effect within their first 30 minute class. The more you practice, the more you will see results.
No special mats or clothes required! In class we do standing, seated, and moving practices. For Zoom classes you can sit on a chair, or sit on the floor; all from the comfort of your home or office. If standing is a challenge, you can also do the entire class from a chair. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily. You will need access to Zoom (free!) on your phone or computer.
Please email me at DoMoreQigong@gmail.com to inquire about offering medical qigong classes at your facility, or to find current offerings in the Houston area.
I am currently accepting applications for the two year Restoration Program. This includes 200 hours of training with myself and with the Master Teachers from Zen Wellness. You can enroll in this program to enhance your personal well-being, or you can choose to complete the additional requirements (student teaching!) to become a Medical Qigong Instructor.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or inquiries you might have. I look forward to training with you soon!
